The First Rap Song

Scientists have unearthed what appear to be the lyrics to the first rap song.
They are baffled as to the meaning of the lyrics, but are sure that the obvious rhyme pattern clearly indicate an early attempt at spoken-word rhyming set to a musical accompaniment.
So far, scientists have deciphered only a portion of the ancient text:

Watch the DICE in the plastic BUBBLE
It pops you IN and OUT of TROUBLE
Here comes SISTER, look out, JACK!
You got TROUBLE, you go BACK!

Scientists also believe that this lyric may also have resulted in the first music video, as scientists believe that this strange rap first appeared in a short 30 second-long film.

Enjoy Being Canadian While You Can

The Tyee reports on a behind-the-curtains plan to integrate Canada into the US politcal and financial framework. What's scary is how much as already been done without us even knowing about it. Be worried.
"If the machinations going on in this country regarding so-called "deep integration" were instead a communist conspiracy to take over the country (you will, of course, have to try hard to imagine this) the news media would be blaring the story.
Pundits would pontificate, editorialists would erupt, security forces would be unleashed.
Instead, a virtual conspiracy to make the country disappear through assimilation into the U.S. gets barely a mention.
But news of the scheme -- formally called the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) -- is finally breaking out of the secret chambers of the ruling elite and the federal government. This is both good news and bad. It's good that ordinary citizens are finally getting a glimpse of the betrayal of their country. The news is bad because it reflects just how much of this scheme is already being implemented.
Given the meetings of CEOs and politicians to advance the scheme politically, as well as all that must go into its actual implementation, there is simply too much activity to keep secret."

The Long Recovery Week 29

So I finally finally finally FINALLY got the bill for my ambulance ride of last November 20.
I have no real complaints in paying it -- after all, I had paramedics find me on the trail, stabilize me for transport, transport me, then I had xrays, tests, then I was transported to a different hospital, then four hours of surgery while a shwack of titanium was put in my arm, drugs, two days in hospital, follow-up doctor's visits and xrays and five months of twice-a-week physio and all I have to pay out of pocket is $15 for my sling and $54 for my initial ambulance ride -- but why in god's name does it take so long to send out? My accident was nearly 7 months ago! And now they send the bill?!??
I bet they would be really choked if I took seven months to pay it!
