Who the hell would vote for "Back to the Future" as an SF film?

  2. Back to the Future is one of the great science fiction films of all time, and easily the best time travel film ever (although let's give some props to Bill S. Preston, Esq., and Ted "Theodore" Logan).
It certainly is the funniest sf film ever, not counting any of Ed Wood's movies...

Best time travel yes (along with Bill and Ted, excellent!), but SF? Seriously?

Too much F and not enough S...

  4. Of course, it's SF. The guy has a time machine for crying out loud!
    The very definition of SF!
    Was it good science?
    Well, that's another question.
But it surely fits the speculative realm of sf, the very best of which is the question "what if."
As in, what if someone built a time-machine...out of a DeLorean?

Well yes, a time machine can be indicative of an SF film, but, just because there is kissing in a movie doesn't automatically make it a love story/chick flick...

Until you posted this list, I would never have thought to call it an SF movie... just my weird little brain!
